Trader or Bookworm?

Traders and books tend to go together like peas in a pod! I’ve never met a successful trader that hasn’t read at least ‘some’ of the top trading books.

Diligent study and background reading is a very wise thing to do. When we read, we aren’t necessarily looking for new strategies or techniques, we’re just trying to increase our overall ‘depth’ of trading/market knowledge. By doing this, we allow ourselves to become better, wiser, more intelligent traders.

Some of these books are modern classics, and some go right back to the beginning of the previous century. Some whittle on about financial astrology, others about market geometry… some even talk about how the Bible affects the stock markets!

Regardless of their content though, each and every one of them help me to achieve my goal of becoming a more informed trader. Even though I don’t use financial astrology or ‘bible interpretation’ myself, by knowing about it, I put myself in the advantageous position of being aware of what other traders might be doing.
